Martyrs' Families Councils call for support of military forces, political leadership

Today, the Martyrs' Families Councils issued a public statement in the cities of Tal Tamr, Tal Brak, Al-Shaddadi, Amuda, Tirbespiye, and Girkê Legê in Jazera Canton, reaffirming unity and condemning divisive rhetoric.

In Tal Tamr, the council organized a protest attended by dozens of members of civil society organizations, political party representatives, and residents of the city, in front of the Martyrs' Families Council building. The public statement was read by Nalin Sido, a member of Kongra Star.

In Al-Shaddadi, the statement was read by council administrator Iman Al-Faraj. In Tal Brak, it was read by council member Barqa Al-Saleh in front of the Martyrs' Families building. In Girkê Legê, the statement was delivered by Suleiman Hassan, the co-chair of the Community Protection Forces, in front of the Martyrs' Families Council building in Rumelan. In Amuda, it was read by council member Fares Khalaf. In Tirbespiye, the statement was delivered by council member Mohammed Amin, and in Dêrik, it was read by Mahmoud Rasoul, a member of the council.

The statement highlighted that amidst the rapidly evolving situation in Syria, particularly in NE Syria and Rojava, the Kurdish people's attention and hopes are focused on achieving unity to secure their legitimate rights and the rights of all Syrian components to self-determination.

The statement emphasized the importance of discussing the future political and organizational landscape in Syria. It noted that regional and global powers are closely monitoring developments in Syria according to their own agendas and future interests.

The statement criticized rhetoric aimed at "inciting discord and fratricidal conflict," warning that such actions pave the way for occupying forces to attack NE Syria.

The statement underscored the value of the martyrs' sacrifices, stressing that the blood of young men and women who gave their lives fighting terrorism cannot be equated with material or political interests.

Call for popular action

The statement concluded with an appeal to the Kurdish people and the peoples of NE Syria to stand by their military forces and political leadership, urging protests against individuals who "incite discord." It emphasized the importance of resisting any attempts to sow internal divisions and working to achieve justice and equality in the region.
