Raqqa Women's Office calls for national unity

The Women's Office in the People's Municipality of Raqqa issued a public statement strongly denouncing the attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on NE Syria.

Members of the office and representatives of the Autonomous Administration of Raqqa participated in the statement, which was read by Slava Ramadan, an administrator of the Women's Office, in the municipality square in Raqqa.

At the beginning of the statement, the Women's Office commemorated the journalist and correspondent for ANHA agency, Cîhan Bîlgîn, and journalist Nazim Dashtan, who were martyred when a drone of the Turkish occupation targeted their vehicle on the road between Serrin and Tishrin Dam on December 19th.

The statement pointed out that the Turkish occupation state continues its systematic campaign of genocide against the peoples of NE Syria, exploiting regional events and political developments in Syria to serve its own agendas.

The statement considered these attacks an act of genocide against the people and a direct assault on the democratic project in the region. The statement also considered the attacks as a clear support for mercenaries, condemning the international silence regarding these attacks and viewing this silence as a reflection of the international community's double standards in dealing with humanitarian issues.

In the face of these attacks and challenges, the statement emphasized the importance of popular solidarity and unity to confront all attempts to undermine the will of the resisting people. It also called on political forces to achieve national unity against the occupation's attacks.
