Manbij Tribes threaten escalation of protests against mercenary crimes

Popular anger continues to grow in Manbij and its countryside over the daily violations committed by the Turkish occupation’s mercenaries, the latest of which was the direct shooting of the young man Hassan al-Jassim, who was seriously injured, in addition to the killing of Abdullah al-Mousa by the mercenaries on the 17th of this month.

Residents of Manbij and its countryside have taken to the streets in multiple demonstrations and protest gatherings rejecting these violations and crimes, demanding accountability for the perpetrators and an end to their practices.

Among the most prominent protests were those organized by the relatives and members of the victim’s tribe, Abdullah al-Mousa, who belonged to the al-Aoun tribe and was killed by the mercenary groups while transporting fuel.

The notables of the Bani Saeed tribe sent messages to the leaders of the mercenaries, demanding that the perpetrators be held accountable and that the crimes stop immediately, warning that ignoring these demands and continuing the violations will be met with major escalation from the tribe, backed by the rest of the region’s tribes.

According to tribal sources quoted by our correspondent, the promises made by the mercenaries and their leaders to reduce the tension and chaos in Manbij are empty, especially since those responsible for the killing of Abdullah al-Mousa have not been arrested even ten days after committing the crime—clear evidence that the mercenaries have no intention of holding the perpetrators accountable.

Manbij and its countryside continue to suffer from chaos, insecurity, and a noticeable rise in crimes and violations against civilians by Turkish-backed mercenaries, amid growing public anger that appears on the verge of exploding.
