The French president, Emmanuel Macron, said today that his country is trying to reconsider its cooperation with Syria in terms of security and military issues, including assisting Syria with special forces in fighting the Islamic State and “terrorists.”

Macron stated in a joint press conference with the Transitional Government Prime Minister, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, in Damascus, that his country remains engaged in the struggle against “terrorism” in the region and that he is ready to assist with special forces.

He emphasized that “Paris wants to reconsider the form of cooperation with Syria in security and military affairs.”
