According to Lebanese media outlets citing the directive, "violators will be returned on the same flight they arrived on."

The directive instructed all airlines to strictly ensure that Syrians wishing to travel to Syria via Rafic Hariri International Airport possess valid residencies abroad lasting more than six months. Those who do not meet this requirement will not benefit from the provisions of this directive and will be sent back on the same flight.

Back in February, Lebanese authorities had allowed Syrians who had entered Europe "illegally" and wanted to return to Syria via Lebanon as a transit point to pass through the country. Previous contradictory directives on this matter were annulled.

At that time, Lebanese authorities confirmed that the allowed duration for transit from Lebanon to Syria was only 24 hours.
