Family, Population Affairs opens office in Hasakah

The Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs has opened its office in Hasakah Governorate following the completion of the merger of the Women’s Authority of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria into the commission.

The Family and Population Affairs office was inaugurated in the presence of Rohat Khalil; administrator at the commission, Jihan Hessam; director of the Qamishlo area, and her administrative team, in addition to women’s organizations in the governorate.

Rohat Khalil, an administrator at the Family and Population Affairs office in Hasakah, delivered a speech welcoming the women attending the opening ceremony.

Rohat Khalil announced the merger of the Women’s Authority into the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs following a series of meetings and discussions in Damascus, describing it as a step aimed at strengthening the work of civil society institutions and addressing family-related issues.

She stressed that the office provides a space for organizing and planning family affairs and related issues, noting that building a healthy society requires the establishment of a healthy, democratic family in which women play a key role.

The attendees then toured the building and exchanged congratulations and well wishes.
