According to Turkey Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), three of the earthquakes occurred in the afternoon, while two were recorded in the evening. AFAD confirmed that no damage was caused by the tremors.

Syria’s National Earthquake Center said the earthquakes, which occurred in neighboring Turkey, were felt in parts of northern Syria.

The area is located about 150 kilometers from the epicenter of the two devastating earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria in February 2023, killing tens of thousands of people in both countries.

Turkey is among the countries in the region most vulnerable to earthquakes, as it lies at the intersection of tectonic plates and is home to several active geological faults and fault lines.
