Leader Ocalan’s Message outlines Syria’s future

The Co-Chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in the city of Hasaka, Farhan Dawoud, highlighted the importance of the leader’s message, saying:

“The leader’s message was extremely important for Syria, especially given the sensitive phase the country is going through and the ongoing negotiations. However, the future of the region remains unclear due to major external interventions in the Syrian file, as they do not want a solution for Syrians. Leader Abdullah Ocalan understands the sensitivity of the situation in Syria.”

He added:“ With Turkey presence in Syria the region will remain unstable. Leader Abdullah Ocalan believes that the regions of North and East Syria possess the project of the Democratic Nation, through which Syria’s future can be built based on coexistence among all components.”

Dawoud shed light on the March 10 agreement, noting that it came for the sake of justice and equality in Syria. He said that the leader laid the foundation for building Syria’s future, stressing that the transitional authority in Damascus is evading the implementation of the agreement.

 This evasion reflects the depth of disagreements in Syria, in addition to the lack of full legitimacy of this authority to implement the agreement on its own, due to Turkish interference and pressure. Months after the agreement, the transitional authority has not taken any serious step toward its implementation.

Agreement for All Syrians

Dawoud emphasized that “the March 10 agreement is not for the Kurds alone, but for all Syrians. Had it been implemented, the massacres in the coast and in Sweida would not have occurred, nor would hate speech and attempts to tear apart the Syrian social fabric have spread.”

He noted that leader Abdullah Ocalan sees the agreement as the foundation of Syria’s future and a right for all Syrians to live in peace in a country that preserves their rights and dignity.

Dawoud addressed the transitional authority’s evasion in Damascus, holding the Turkish state responsible for obstructing the implementation of the March 10 agreement due to its heavy pressure, as well as its statements that contradict realities on the ground.

 He pointed to the clear contradiction between Turkish officials’ positions and their demand for a centralized state based on the Turkish vision rather than the demands of Syrians. He added that the recent clashes in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood revealed the reality of Turkish attempts to sabotage the agreement.

Call for Turkey to Play a Positive Role

Leader Abdullah Ocalan had called on the Turks to play a positive role in bringing North and East Syria closer to Damascus and in implementing the March 10 agreement.

 In this regard, Farhan Dawoud said:

“Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis until today, Turkey has played a negative role in the Syrian file, acting according to its own interests by misleading the peoples of the region. If it truly wants peace, it must play a positive role appropriate to this stage and stop imposing its policies, because peace in Syria means peace for Turkey.”

Dawoud concluded by saying that leader Abdullah Ocalan had launched the peace and democratic society process in Turkey, yet Turkey has not taken any step in this direction, nor regarding the March 10 agreement. Therefore, the message to the Turks was clear: peace in Syria is peace in Turkey, as Turkey is a major influential factor in Syria and over the authorities. He stressed that if Turkey plays a positive role, it could bring peace to the region and lead Syrians to a comprehensive agreement; otherwise, Syria will not achieve full stability.
