Kurdistan delegation: Kurdish unity and resistance Foiled Plots Against Rojava

A delegation of Kurdish artists and intellectuals visited Qamishlo as part of a solidarity visit to Rojava to support the popular resistance and participate in the general mobilization. The visit included several civil institutions and political parties.

The delegation included artists Diyar Yashar (Diyar Dersim), Ibrahim Jelak (Hozan Shamdren), Kalbahar Rahim (Jala), Lukman Salem Fattah, athlete Deniz Naki, journalist Daniel Jamali, artist Renas Lezkin Saadi, and writer Kakshar Khorshid.

They were received by the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) leadership, represented by Ramziya Muhammad, and the organizational office heads Shaha Khalil and Abboud Makhsu. Ramziya Muhammad welcomed the delegation, affirming that the Rojava revolution is the revolution of the people and their free will to break the chains of dictatorship and gain their rights.

The delegation praised the leading role of women in the Autonomous Administration, noting that they are at the forefront of the revolution. They also highlighted that Kurds from Eastern Kurdistan are engaged in significant struggles and provide ongoing support for the Rojava revolution. Rojava, although the smallest part of Kurdistan, has played a prominent and honorable role in the revolution, which is a source of pride for Kurdish intellectuals and artists.

The delegation stated that the people of Rojava have demonstrated to the world and the Kurdish people their ability to protect and defend their land, boosting morale and hopes for the future of Kurdish struggle.

Muhammad emphasized that Kurdish unity was achieved through the will of the people themselves, not through political parties. She explained that the Kurdish uprising includes all four parts of Kurdistan, alongside Kurdish movements worldwide, and briefed the delegation on the functioning of TEV-DEM and local institutions since the beginning of the revolution.

The delegation also visited the Democratic Union Party (PYD) headquarters in Qamishlo, where they were received by party presidential member Aldar Khalil, co-chairpersons Perwin Yousif and Gharib Hasso, along with members of the Women’s Council and party offices.

Yousif spoke about conspiracies against the autonomous administration of northeast Syria by certain states, aiming to perpetuate war and end the existence of ethnic and minority groups in Syria. She noted that the administration seeks dialogue and peace, having signed several agreements including the March 10 agreement, which was not fully implemented, leading to the signing of the January 18 agreement to halt the war.

She emphasized the goal of building a decentralized, pluralistic Syria, highlighting the determination of regional peoples to ensure the success of agreements while preserving the unique nature of Kurdish areas.

The delegation renewed their full support for the Rojava revolution, praising the people who continuously resist to protect their cities and regions, noting that this historic stance taught a lesson to enemies of the Kurdish people and prompted international attention.

They noted that this is the first time millions of Kurds have risen to defend the Kurdish people, emphasizing that Rojava’s resistance has strengthened Kurdish unity across the four parts of Kurdistan. In their words, the Kurdish people are now “one spirit in one body, with a heart that beats for Kurdistan.”

The visit concluded with a program that also included a visit to the Mesopotamia Movement for Democratic Culture and Art.
