Kurdish, Arab tribal notables emphasize reinforcing unity, supporting stability in Jazira 

Tribal notables, sheikhs, and prominent figures from the Kurdish and Arab communities gathered at the invitation of the Daqouri tribe in Saranja Daqouriya village of Jazira region, located on the road between Amuda – Hasaka, and Derbasiyah – Hasaka. The meeting aimed to strengthen cohesion and unity between the Kurdish and Arab communities, and tents were erected to receive them.

The meeting began with a warm welcome to the attendees, and was described as a fraternal gathering, reflecting the participants' commitment to fostering unity and reinforcing the values of mutual respect among the various components.

Abdel Salam al-Basha al-Assi al-Jarba; a prominent figure from Shemar tribe, emphasized the great importance and joy of this day, stating that they are a people united by an identity built on solidarity, both now and in the future.

He added that they have worked since ancient times to solidify and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, and they reject any attempts to incite discord between Kurds and Arabs. He affirmed that the peoples of the region share a rich and common history, and preserving it requires continuous unity and solidarity.

For his part, the Emir of the Tayy tribe, Ziyad al-Farhan, explained that dignity is indivisible and that the nation is built through the solidarity of all its people, and that shared history testifies to the way its various communities have stood side by side in the face of different challenges and difficulties.

He added that the destiny of all the people of the region is one, and called for building bridges of cooperation with all those who are sincere and strengthening the unity and solidarity of its communities in a way that serves social stability.

For his part, Abdel Aziz Haj Ahmed, speaking on behalf of al-Husseinah clan, affirmed that they do not gather as separate groups, but rather with a unified spirit and shared will. He emphasized that unity is not merely a slogan for them, but a deeply rooted heritage and an enduring value that binds them together, and that they support one another in all circumstances.

Furthermore, Sheikh Maneh al-Humaidi al-Daham al-Hadi; the head of Shemar tribe, affirmed that the clans represent a living national memory, and that their morals and principles are well-known, making the affirmation of their unity an ongoing and integral part of their reality.

He added that there are attempts to incite discord; however, the clans will stand against them, and that they are all the people of one land, bound by brotherhood and a shared destiny, and they reject any external influences that threaten the cohesion of their society, striving to preserve its unity and stability.

One of the sheikhs of Bani Saba'a tribe, Hussein al-Hajji Abu Amsha, explained that the primary demand is represented by the protection of the region, and he called on the relevant authorities to adopt this demand and work towards its realization.

For his part, Awad al-Aqla; a notable from al-Baggara tribe, indicated that the presence of the tribes in this region reflects unity and cohesion, and carries a clear message of adherence to fraternal relations and a refusal to abandon one another, regardless of changing circumstances.

Hassen Ali Issa Agha al-Melli, speaking on behalf of al-Melan Khader Agha tribe, emphasized that in light of the political and social challenges facing the region, the unity of its communities is the best way to overcome various obstacles and strengthen stability.

Sheikh Ezz al-Din al-Najm, speaking on behalf of al-Jahish al-Zubayria tribe, pointed out that the current stage requires greater solidarity and unity among the communities to confront the challenges and enhance stability in the region.

For his part, writer Michel Othman, speaking on behalf of Murika-Kikan tribe, explained that the meeting was held away from political rivalries, and that shared responsibility necessitates standing against any attempts to incite discord.

The meeting concluded by affirming support for the January 29th Agreement held between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Autonomous Administration on one hand, and the Interim Government on the other hand, while also emphasizing the requirements of the current stage and the need to respond to them in a way that enhances stability and social cohesion.
