The Water Authority in Kobane, in the Euphrates region, revealed that 14 drinking water stations have gone out of service due to power outages.

This came in a statement issued by the authority on Wednesday in front of the People's Municipality, read by the authority's co-chair, Zozan Khalil.

The statement indicated that 14 water stations are out of service due to the power cuts, and that the city of Kobane and its surrounding villages have been suffering from water shortages for nearly 20 days, threatening the lives of more than 500,000 people.

The statement also pointed out the failure of the Syrian Interim Government institutions to fulfill their promises regarding the provision of electricity.
