ENKS reveals details of its meetings in Damascus

The Presidency Board of the Kurdish National Council in Syria met with Ahmad al-Shara on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, following the delegation’s meeting with the Interim Government’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Asaad al-Shaibani, on 2 February. The Council disclosed the details of the meeting today in a statement published on its official platforms.

According to the statement, the meeting discussed national issues, particularly the Kurdish cause, and ways to adopt dialogue as a mechanism for resolving disputes and contributing to the building of a new Syria. The Council reviewed its national positions since the establishment of the Kurdish political movement, reaffirming its call for a democratic Syria that guarantees the national rights of the Kurdish people within the framework of national unity.

The statement added that the Council welcomed Decree No. 13, considering it a positive step, and called for the inclusion of the national rights of the Kurds in the Syrian constitution in a form that reflects the country’s ethnic and religious pluralism, ensuring justice and equality among all components.

In conclusion, the statement noted that President Ahmad al-Shara emphasized the need to address the injustices previously suffered by the Kurds and the importance of their participation at all levels of the reconstruction process, while committing to dialogue, ongoing communication, and the rejection of hate speech in order to strengthen mutual trust, achieve security and stability, and build a state based on the rule of law and institutions.
