KCK calls for strengthening unity, solidarity, escalating struggle on Labor Day

The Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) issued a statement today on the occasion of May 1, International Workers' Day, stating:

"May 1 is a day of unity, struggle, and solidarity. We celebrate this day first and foremost with the working class, all oppressed classes, workers, peoples, women, and all those who struggle for equality, freedom, and democracy. We also remember with respect and gratitude the martyrs of May 1, who hold a significant place in the working class's struggle against the colonial system. In their person, we remember with gratitude all the martyrs of the revolution and democracy.

The struggle of the working class holds a significant place against capitalist modernity, which plunders all values of society through exploitation and appropriates them. In its pursuit of maximum profit, it not only plunders individuals and society, but also plunders nature and renders it unfit for human use. For life.

The struggle of the working class holds an important place. The struggle for socialism is commemorated with May Day and with the struggle of the working class. Today, it has reached a global level and become a national struggle against capitalist modernity, championed by all those who struggle for equality, democracy, and freedom.

Socialism and the socialist struggle, which symbolizes the utopia of life free from colonialism, against male domination, colonialism, and capitalist modernity, are of utmost importance to individuals, society, and humanity. Just as it was yesterday, for socialism, today, and for humanity, it is the fundamental path to dignity and liberation. In the face of the colonial world of capitalist modernity, which grows daily and threatens human life and nature, the ideals and goals set by socialism are our most important fundamental values, which we can never abandon.

The application of the values inherent in socialism is the essence of our struggle. Leader APO defined humanity as the insistence on and implementation of socialism, thus highlighting this truth. The struggle for freedom in Kurdistan has developed on the basis of these values and continues to develop on the basis of these values to this day. Leader APO is extremely determined and committed to implementing socialism. He is persistent and always strives to implement it.

Leader APO demonstrated this stance once again through his "Call for Peace and a Democratic Society." Leader APO's "Call for Peace and a Democratic Society" constitutes a historic step toward achieving socialism in this era.

Historically, a democratic society itself signifies the realization of the struggle of the working class, the oppressed, women, and peoples against the colonial life of capitalist modernity. Therefore, seeking to understand Leader APO's historic call and working to establish a democratic society is crucial to strengthening the struggle for socialism. As a movement, we affirm that this is our position and that we are, accordingly, in a process of change and transformation.

Once again, we celebrate May 1, the day of unity, struggle, and solidarity, and call for strengthening solidarity and unity, which is the essence of May 1. At the same time, we also call for intensifying the struggle on this basis. We call on our patriotic people to stand and celebrate May Day in solidarity with workers, toilers, women, and the oppressed, based on the "call for peace and a democratic society." A struggle built on the unity and solidarity of peoples, workers, toilers, and women will destroy the colonial system of capitalist modernity and build a world free of class and colonialism, and a life filled with women's freedom, democracy, and the environment.
