K. Star calls for justice, protection of prisoners and resistance to occupation 

The K. Star issued a statement to the public regarding the capture of three fighters from the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya Defense Forces in Aleppo by the Turkish occupation mercenaries and the violations they faced at the hands of these mercenaries.

The statement read:

"Today, World War III has begun in the Middle East, specifically on Syrian soil, where all colonial plans are being executed, especially against the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region. The aim of these attacks is to divide Kurdistan and the Middle East according to Turkish plans, overthrow the democratic system that emerged in the Rojava Revolution, and weaken the philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan, which offers an alternative to the existing system. All dominant powers have united their schemes, and through ISIS mercenaries, they seek to occupy and exterminate the Kurdish people and the people of the region. The war on the ancient city of Aleppo is a result of this, and with a great betrayal, they are committing an immoral and inhumane crime against the world.

As is known, despite the name change to 'al-Nusra,' they are in fact ISIS mercenaries. These savage mercenaries attacked Shahba, Afrin, and the city of Aleppo in cooperation with dirty international plans. The goal of these attacks is to eliminate the gains of the Rojava Revolution and destroy the Democratic Autonomous Administration system. At the same time, they seek to divide Syrian territory according to their authoritarian interests, exploiting the chaos created by the wars to design a social life according to their own desires. They are committing genocide against the community and seek to destroy the existence and freedom of the Kurds through occupation. This plan is being implemented by the Turkish occupying state against the Syrian people.

In the face of these malicious practices and policies of dominant and international powers, the Kurdish community and the peoples of the region have resisted for many years, fighting for their existence and freedom. They consider themselves ready for a revolutionary people's war and are building a democratic system for life. For more than six years, the people of Afrin and Aleppo have shown unprecedented courage and resilience, resisting all forms of pressure and difficulties with their own capabilities. They withstood military invasion attacks and psychological warfare, managing to live freely according to a democratic system.

The Kurdish people have been living in the largest neighborhoods of Aleppo for years, maintaining their existence and identity. However, today, the mercenaries of al-Nusra, led by the Turkish state, attacked the Shahba area and the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods. As a result of this attack, three female fighters from the Sheikh Maqsoud Defense Forces, who were defending the people of the neighborhood, were captured. What happened reminds the entire world of the mentality, approaches, and brutal practices of ISIS mercenaries against Yezidi women in Shingal, from beheading to selling them in markets. This once again exposes their deep hostility to the existence of women and their role. Undoubtedly, the Turkish occupying state and Erdogan's mercenaries are responsible for this brutality, and the response to this act will be more severe.

The female fighters are the ones guarding the existence and freedom of their peoples and regions. Their struggle and resistance in defending the people and women have become known worldwide, serving as a great source of hope for women everywhere, and an inspiration for self-defense. Despite the long history of women's struggles and resistance around the world, building an army of women with its own methodology and will has sparked a distinctive revolution. We, as the Kongra Star Council in Rojava, strongly condemn the capture of the three fighters, considering it an immoral act. We call on Amnesty International and all civil society organizations, thinkers, democrats, and freedom defenders to not remain silent in the face of the capture of the fighters who were protecting their people in Sheikh Maqsoud. These immoral practices that violate the rules of war must be rejected. We demand a firm stance against this aggression.

On behalf of all the women of the K. Star in Rojava, we pledge to continue strengthening our organization and resistance against these hostile actions, and to work on protecting our lands and increasing the number of fighters and defenders. We will avenge our comrades and continue resisting the occupation and genocide carried out by the savage mercenaries. We will prevail with the spirit of the revolutionary people's war, and deliver even fiercer blows to the occupiers. Led by women warriors, fighters, and activists, we will provide historic responses.

We call on all women in the world to stand with the three fighters who were defending their people and the dignity of women and have become a great source of inspiration for all women. Today, we must affirm the need to protect their lives and defend their rights.

The presence of women defenders represents the protection of all women. In the face of authoritarian mentality and male-dominated systems, we must unite in struggle and build women's resistance. We must unite our voices and raise them high in opposition to the capture of these fighters. No special attacks targeting women or the peoples of the region should be accepted, and we must continue to resist and fight in accordance with the reality of the revolutionary people's war."
