K Star  announces International Women's Day events in 4 cities

The Kongra Star in Hasaka announced its program of events for International Women's Day, which falls on March 8th each year, for the cities of Hasakah, Zirgan, Tel Tamer, and Derbasiyah. The announcement was made in a statement delivered in April 4th Park, attended by women from the city, members of women's organizations, intellectuals, activists, and politicians.

It explained that this year's events are being held under the slogan: "With the philosophy of Women, Life, Freedom, we protect the gains of the women's revolution." The statement noted that this slogan embodies the spirit of the struggle of free women and their unbreakable will.

The statement continued: "We commemorate March 8th, International Women's Day, at a critical juncture for Rojava, where attacks are escalating and attempts to undermine the gains of the women's revolution are intensifying. We commemorate this day not merely as a celebratory occasion, but as a milestone in our struggle, renewing our pledge to the martyrs and affirming that the philosophy of Women, Life, Freedom is not just empty words, but a comprehensive liberation project and a vision for building a democratic society based on justice and equality."

The statement pointed to attempts by "the occupation forces and the patriarchal mindset" to target women in order to intimidate them and break their will, emphasizing that these attempts will not deter women from continuing their struggle, and that the gains of the women's revolution represent a "red line" and a collective responsibility to protect.

The statement added that the blood of the martyrs has transformed into a source of struggle and a deeply rooted awareness among women, stressing that the women-led revolution will continue until complete freedom is achieved, and that women's will is the safety valve of society and the guarantee of its future.

Kongra Star events program in Hasaka:

March 1: City beautification. Young women plant trees and flowers at the martyrs' graves.

March 2: A group of women announce their joining the general mobilization. The entrance to Hasaka city is decorated by the Young Women's Union with a braided hair display.

March 3: A visit to the village of Jinwar. An event in Hasaka city where young women form the number (8) as a symbol of International Women's Day

March 4: Lighting candles at shrines. Opening of a handicrafts and photography exhibition.

March 5: Visits to civilian and military institutions. Screening of a film about braids. A celebration organized by the Young Women's Union.

March 6: A women's gathering at a roundabout to braid their hair. A street theater performance organized by the Young Women's Union.

March 7: Preparations for the March 8 celebration. Distribution of brochures about the meaning of braids and their historical significance for the Kurds.

March 8: Participation in the central celebration to be held at the municipal stadium in Hasaka.
