Justice Council in Afrin- Shahba canton decries isolation imposed on Leader Ocalan

On Thursday, the Justice Council in Afrin and al-Shahba canton made a statement denouncing the continued isolation imposed on Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and preventing his family from meeting with him, in front of his center in the village of Tal Sawsan in al-Shahba canton.

The statement was delivered by a member of the court’s office, Subhi Al-Ahmad.

The statement stressed, "The Turkish state and the Justice and Development Government continue to breach all international laws and norms approved by the General Assembly. More than twenty years after the international conspiracy that was hatched against the leader and his arrest, Turkey breaches all international laws and norms, such as the Geneva Convention. The goal is to tighten isolation against him in order to undermine the people’s will.

The statement added, "The Turkish occupation's attacks on the region and its targeting of infrastructure are war crimes committed amid the world's silence."

The statement stressed: “We, the Justice Council in Afrin and al-Shahba canton, condemn and denounce the isolation imposed on Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and we call on all organizations concerned with prisoners’ and human rights to intervene to stop these violations and achieve his physical freedom.”
