Channel 14 said that Tel Aviv believes the recent call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paves the way for Russian requests related to the Syrian file.

According to the channel, Israel expects Moscow to ask Tel Aviv to enter negotiations on several Syria-related issues, in addition to discussing the possibility of “supplying the Syrian army with equipment and combat means in the coming period.”

The channel also indicated that “Russia is preparing to strengthen its presence in the Syrian arena through broader military support for the Syrian army,” as part of a wider vision to increase its involvement in regional developments.
