Israeli forces place barbed wire inside buffer zone in Quneitra countryside

Local sources in Quneitra reported on Monday that Israeli forces had erected barbed wire fences inside the buffer zone west of al-Ashah village of Quneitra countryside, extending approximately 100 meters into the territory adjacent to the demarcation line.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the move was accompanied by military field movements in the immediate vicinity, raising concerns among residents and farmers about the potential impact of the new measures on the movement of people and nearby agricultural lands.

In a related development, Israeli forces established a military checkpoint at the entrance to the town of Jabata al-Khashab, deploying approximately 20 personnel and several military vehicles, amid tension in the area.

The sources confirmed that no civilian casualties have been reported so far, while the shelling and military movements have caused panic among residents, particularly those working in the surrounding agricultural lands.

This comes amid escalating tensions and frequent military movements in the Quneitra countryside in the recent period.
