An ISIS attack on sheep herders in eastern rural Raqqa, under the control of Damascus government forces, resulted in the death of a shepherd and the death of 300 sheep.

Last evening, ISIS mercenaries launched an assault targeting sheep herders in the Bouhamed desert area in eastern rural Raqqa, which is under the control of Damascus government forces. This attack led to the death of a shepherd, while another's fate remains unknown.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the assault also led to the death of approximately 300 sheep.

Since the start of 2024, the Syrian Observatory has documented a total of 450 fatalities in military operations within the Syrian desert. This includes 45 civilians, among them a child, 376 from the Damascus government forces and allied groups, and 29 ISIS mercenaries. They were killed in 156 ISIS attacks involving ambushes, armed assaults, and explosions that occurred in parts of Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, and Homs deserts.
