Iranian authorities executed 3 Kurdish detainees who were arrested on the background of their participation in the Women, Life, Freedom uprising in East Kurdistan.

The Human Rights Organization in Iran announced that Iranian authorities executed three Kurdish detainees; Raouf Sheikh Ahmedi, Mohamed Faraji, and Mohsen Eslamgah, who were being held in Bukan Prison in East Kurdistan. 

Raouf Sheikh Ahmedi was arrested on December 26, 2022 in Bukan, and then transferred to the intelligence center in Urmia. Mohamed Faraji was arrested on January 11, 2023 and transferred to the same center shortly afterward. Mohsen Eslamgah, who was 16 years old at the time of his arrest, was taken to the intelligence unit in Urmia and his news has been cut off for 40 days before being transferred to Bukan Prison.

Human rights defenders assert that the three detainees were subjected to torture, and that their confessions were extracted under duress.
