The beginning of the strategic agreement between Iran and Russia, where the London-based Al-Arab newspaper wrote in this regard, “Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, signed on Friday a 20-year strategic partnership agreement, which includes closer defense cooperation between the two countries, at a time when Iran seeks to compensate for its regional losses after losing their arms in Gaza and Lebanon.

The newspaper added: “Observers believe that Iran, whose influence has suffered painful blows in the Middle East, wants to search for a solid alliance with Russia, preventing any attempt to target it directly from Israel or the United States after it lost proxies who were fighting the war in its place.
