The organization defending Narges Mohammadi, who won the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize, announced that Iranian authorities detained her today using “violence” during a ceremony marking one week since the death of an Iranian lawyer.

The organization stated that Narges Mohammadi—who was granted temporary release from prison in December 2024—was arrested along with other activists during the commemoration of lawyer Khosrow Ali Kordi, who was found dead in his office last week.

Her husband, Taghi Rahmani, who resides in Paris, said on X that she was arrested during the ceremony in the city of Mashhad, in eastern Iran, along with prominent activist Sepideh Gholian.
