The official Iranian news agency Mehr quoted the Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters, Iran's Supreme Joint Military Command, as saying that the Strait of Hormuz would be closed to maritime traffic due to alleged violations of the ceasefire agreement by the United States and Israel.

In contrast, US Vice President J.D. Vance stated in an interview with Fox News that "there is no evidence that Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz."

Such initiatives follow expectations regarding the development of the Iranian-American accord, which followed an agreement that put an end to the war and paved the way for further negotiations. In addition, the situation with Lebanon, the Strait of Hormuz, and assurances on nuclear facilities is one of the main challenges regarding the seriousness of both sides. It should be noted that the negotiations initially planned to be held in Switzerland were delayed due to the question about when the phase of negotiations will begin.

The final agreement is expected to address Iran's nuclear program, sanctions, frozen assets, and de-escalation guarantees.
