Internal force arrest ISIS Cell east of Deir-ez-Zor

The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria revealed, in a statement published on its website, that its Special Forces (H.A.T.) carried out a special operation that led to the arrest of an ISIS cell east of Deir Ezzor on Monday (June 23).

The forces explained that the operation followed continuous monitoring and follow-up of financial extortion and assassinations carried out by the cell, adding, "The group was collecting money under the pretext of Zakat and extorting money from residents."

The statement read: "Special forces carried out a successful raid on sites belonging to the cell, resulting in the arrest of its members, without any casualties among the forces. Weapons, ammunition, and drones used in their criminal activities were also seized."

The forces confirmed that the Public Security Directorate has begun taking preliminary legal measures against the detainees, in preparation for their referral to the judiciary.

They emphasized the continuation of their operations to pursue ISIS cells, affirming their full commitment to protecting civilians and achieving security and stability in the region.
