Integrated healthcare workers protest delayed payment of their dues

Four months after failing to receive their financial dues from the Syrian Transitional Government, healthcare workers integrated into the Ministry of Health staged a protest, calling for their salary payments to be addressed and disbursed as soon as possible.

Dozens of integrated healthcare workers protested on Monday outside the Hasakah Governorate building, calling for the payment of their salaries, which have been delayed for more than four months. They said the delay in receiving their dues has exacerbated their difficult living conditions.

The protesters held signs expressing their demands, reading, “Our dignity is tied to our salaries,” “Failure to pay salaries is worsening our suffering,” and “A worker’s salary is their right.”

Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad met with the protesters in front of the governorate building and listened to their demands and complaints regarding the delayed payment of their salaries and the circumstances they are facing as a result.

The governor said he would follow up on the issue of paying their dues, pledging to make efforts to ensure that their salaries are paid, to the extent possible, by the end of this month.
