Infighting among Turkish mercenaries for control

Two days of clashes, ranging from intense to intermittent, took place between the “Northern Hawks” mercenaries on one side and the “Hamzat” and “Amshat” mercenaries on the other, in several areas occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries in Syria.

The clashes were concentrated in cities, towns, and villages, including Afrin, Azaz, Mare, and al-Bab, which are occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries, and there was a state of alert and security tension in other areas.

The clashes resulted in the deaths of 10 mercenaries from both sides, 4 from the “Hamzat” and “Amshat” mercenaries and 6 from the “Northern Hawks” mercenaries, in addition to dozens of injuries.

Two civilians (a man and a woman) were also killed in the clashes between the two sides, and 27 others were injured, including 3 children.

The clashes occurred in the context of the Turkish occupation state's efforts to dissolve some mercenary groups and replace them with others, following raids by the “Hamzat” and “Amshat” mercenaries on the headquarters of the “Northern Hawks” mercenaries, based on orders from the Turkish occupation army.

The orders to dissolve the mercenaries came after the “Northern Hawks” refused the Turkish occupation state's orders, especially after they rejected the opening of the crossing between their areas and the areas controlled by the Damascus government at the “Abu al-Zandin” crossing.

During the clashes, the “Hamzat” and “Amshat” mercenaries took control of the “Northern Hawks” positions in various areas of the Syrian lands occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries.

Yesterday, the “Northern Hawks” mercenaries announced their dissolution and the surrender of their members and leaders after two days of clashes and more than two months of pressure from the Turkish occupation state.
