Imrali delegation issues statement following meeting with Erdogan

The People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) issued a statement after its meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, saying: "We clearly announce to our people that we feel proud to be more hopeful today than yesterday."

In a written statement the DEM noted: "The meeting we held with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his team took place in an atmosphere of positivity and understanding. The upcoming stages were evaluated together. It was stressed that the next phase, which must be free of violence and conflict, and enhance the democratic and political space for the benefit of our country, people, and region."

The statement added: "Our delegation and party will continue their efforts to establish a call for peace and a democratic society with a stronger will and greater interest in the upcoming phase. We clearly announce to our people that we feel proud to be more hopeful today than yesterday. We also express our gratitude to all political parties and civic institutions that supported this process through their proposals, awareness, and constructive criticism."
