Hussein Othman: We are determined to preserve gains of our people

 Today, the people of Raqqa canton celebrate the seventh anniversary of the liberation of the canton from ISIS mercenaries, as the Executive Council in the canton organized a celebration in which hundreds of people from the canton, civil and military institutions, officials in the Autonomous Administration, leaders in the Syrian Democratic Forces and the International Coalition, and tribal and clan leaders participated.

During the celebration, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hussein Othman, delivered a speech in which he said at the beginning: "We celebrate with you today the seventh anniversary of the liberation of Raqqa Canton from the filth of darkness and slavery, and the restoration of its garment studded with civilizations rooted in history."

Hussein Othman explained that: "This liberation came by a decision based on the free will formed by the peoples of North and East Syria, and led by the Syrian Democratic Forces with all will and determination, thus presenting the highest verses of resistance and sacrifice and studding Raqqa with the blood of its heroes and heroines who have become an icon of freedom in all parts of the world."

Hussein Othman noted: "Today we celebrate this historic and pivotal occasion in the history of our city. The region is going through a massive chaos that the dark forces are exploiting to undermine the stability of our regions."

Hussein Othman stressed: "We are determined in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria to preserve the gains of our people, and to strike the cells and groups of ISIS mercenaries' remnants through our military and security forces with popular and public support from the people of North and East Syria."

In his speech, Hussein Othman pointed out: "Our resistant people, we in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, as we rely on the alliance of our voluntary and fateful peoples, affirm on this occasion that the societal honor that is based on the concepts of the democratic nation and the brotherhood of peoples is our common destiny, to enhance the security and prosperity of our city and preserve its free identity."

At the end of his speech, Hussein Othman thanked: "The people of Raqqa who contributed to the reconstruction of the city side by side with the Autonomous Administration in all fields and at all levels despite all the challenges and difficulties," and stressed: "We in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, will do everything in our power to develop our city, develop its infrastructure and provide the best services."
