HPC: We support SDF in defending our land and building bright future for our generations

The General Command of the Community Protection Forces issued a public statement today, Friday, at the April 4th Park in the city of Hasaka, in Jazera Canton, with the participation of hundreds of members from the Community Protection Forces (HPC) and Women’s Community Protection Forces (HPC-JIN).

The statement was read in Kurdish by forces member Viyan Hassan and in Arabic by Hamid Meeish, an official in the forces in Jazera Canton.

The statement declared, "We are living through decisive days of historical significance for our future in Syria and the Autonomous Administration areas," noting that the fall of the Ba'ath regime, which ruled Syria for 61 years, was due to its failure to achieve democratic change and meet the demands of the Syrian people in political, social, and economic fields.

It explained that the Syrian regime’s failure to meet the people's needs opened the door for Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries to expand and launch attacks on NE Syria. "Our people in Shahba and Manbij have faced severe oppression and looting, women have been abducted, and all forms of violations have taken place. The shelling and ground attacks on our cities and villages continue," the statement added.

The statement continued, "The crisis in Syria is ongoing. Although the military force centered in Damascus claims to be an alternative administration, as a people, we cannot entrust our defense and security to a power closely cooperating with the Turkish state and disregarding women’s freedom, nor to any other force."

The statement reaffirmed that the Syrian Democratic Forces are "our legitimate defense force, composed of young Kurdish, Arab, Armenian, and Assyrian Syriacs. They are now displaying great resistance and heroism against the Turkish occupation’s fascism and its mercenaries."

The statement added, "In the face of this unparalleled sacrifice and resistance, as Community Protection Forces, we cannot leave our forces alone. Along with defending our homes, villages, neighborhoods, and cities through organizing everywhere we exist, we will join the ranks of the Syrian Democratic Forces without hesitation."

The statement highlighted that dozens of HPC and HPC-JIN members have joined the ranks of the SDF and Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), fighting alongside them on the front lines. "This is evidence that the SDF, YPJ, and YPG represent us, we are all SDF," the statement declared.

The statement described the Autonomous Administration as "a haven of freedom despite all attempts to create chaos for 13 years, because it defends itself and does not entrust its defense to others. Today, this need has become greater than ever. We must protect our lands, cities, villages, and neighborhoods."

The statement addressed Turkish occupation intentions, stating, "The Turkish state harbors malicious intentions, seeking to occupy our homeland and annex all of Syria as a province under its rule, just as it did previously in Afrin, Tal Abyad, Serekaniye, and all Syrian regions. The Turkish state openly declares to the public, saying, ‘Either you surrender, or we will bury you with your weapons.’ This is the greatest humanitarian crime, and Turkey must be held accountable for its words and actions."

The statement emphasized, "This land is ours. We did not come from anywhere else to settle here by force. Those who came to our land and occupied it are the Turkish state and its mercenaries. They are not the rightful owners of this land. We do not covet anyone else’s land, but everyone must know that we will resist to the last drop of our blood against those who covet our land."

The statement concluded, "We, in the Community Protection Forces (HPC and HPC-JIN), call on all our people to organize their lives based on revolutionary people's war and strengthen their ranks by joining the People's Defense Forces. We are not afraid of paying the price, because we know that by making sacrifices, we protect our country and build a bright future for our generations."
