Brian Hughes, the spokesperson for the National Security Council at the White House, described Leader Abdullah Ocalan's call as "an important development, and we hope it will help reassure our Turkish allies regarding the United States' partners in combating ISIS in northeastern Syria."

He added, "I believe this is a step that will contribute to achieving peace in the region."

In this context, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement today regarding Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s call for peace, which he made yesterday.
