Families of martyrs warned of the deteriorating health condition of leader Abdullah Ocalan due to the isolation conditions in Imrali Prison, stressing that his physical freedom has become a humanitarian and political necessity for the peoples of the region, as it represents a step toward peace, stability, enhanced coexistence, and a democratic solution.

Experts in the fields of asylum, displacement, and peacebuilding considered the return of refugees, internally displaced persons, and those forcibly displaced to their homes as one of the main pillars of restoring peace, stability, and reconstruction in Syria. They noted, however, that Syria is not yet ready to move forward with these steps due to the lack of essential conditions for return, amid economic, security, and political challenges, as well as unresolved transitional justice processes. The mother of Aisha Abdulwahab al-Ali, who has been missing in Aleppo since last January, appealed to the concerned authorities to reveal her daughter’s fate, in the absence of any information about her since then. (Photos and video attached).

Hala Marouki, Executive Director of the Justice and Sustainable Development Foundation, affirmed that the role of Syrian women remains below expectations, stressing the need to enhance their representation in decision-making positions despite the competence and resilience they have demonstrated during the years of war. Residents of Hasaka have increasingly complained about the severe deterioration of the city’s streets, with some turning into water pools after rainfall due to blocked drainage outlets. This has disrupted traffic, caused repeated vehicle breakdowns, and affected the mobility of residents and students, despite repeated promises by the municipality to carry out maintenance and repairs. Writers and rights activists from Hasaka, Aleppo, and Idlib attributed the growing divisions among Syrians to years of war and policies of marginalization and exclusion affecting various components of society. They stressed that the lack of mutual understanding and the promotion of hate speech in media have deepened these gaps, calling for strengthening cultural and social interaction among all components through education, media, and community programs to foster cohesion and build a home that unites Syrians of different languages and sects. Despite more than two decades since the سقوط نظام صدام حسين, Iraq still needs comprehensive national reconciliation and participatory governance that guarantees the rights of all components. This aligns with leader Abdullah Ocalan’s ideas on “peace and democratic society,” based on coexistence, social justice, and decentralization as a pathway to lasting stability.
