Residents of the Alyan area confirmed that the agreement concluded between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Interim Government represents a positive step toward reducing tension. However, they stressed that it does not constitute a sufficient guarantee to end the concerns experienced by the Kurdish people, emphasizing their adherence to the principle of self-defense to ensure the stability of their areas. At a time when the Turkish occupying state and its mercenaries continue to cut off water from the Alouk water station from more than one and a half million people in the city of Hasakah and its countryside, the Co-Chair of the Hasakah City Council called for Turkey’s withdrawal from the region, the handover of the Alouk station to its residents, and the resumption of regular water pumping without using it as a political pressure tool. Citizens from the city of Hasakah affirmed that Kurdish unity has become an urgent necessity in light of current challenges, stressing that unity constitutes the fundamental guarantee for protecting rights and gains, and for conveying the Kurdish voice to the world in a unified manner. The January 29 agreement quickly moved into practical implementation on the ground in Hasakah and Kobani, through coordinated security deployments, administrative and military meetings, and the governor’s assumption of his duties. Do these steps indicate the beginning of a new phase of reorganizing security and administrative structures and strengthening cooperation between the two sides?
