Members of the Intellectuals’ Union in the city of Dirbasiya affirmed that the practical steps taken by the Kurdistan Freedom Movement are crucial for advancing the peace process and building a democratic society. They stated that the Turkish authorities must take concrete actions, beginning with granting the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan calan and releasing all prisoners from Turkish prisons. Intellectuals and researchers in Girkê Lekê described Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s initiative and the withdrawal of the PKK from Turkey as a “historic turning point toward peace.” They stressed that it is an opportunity to achieve security and stability in the region and called on Turkey to respond seriously to peace efforts. Various Syrian social groups warned against excluding the will of the Syrian people from any understandings or agreements between Turkey and Damascus, emphasizing that any deal not based on a comprehensive national Syrian will and not guaranteeing the participation of all components would amount to a political bargain that entrenches foreign influence and reproduces the crisis. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) carried out six security operations against ISIS cells during October, resulting in the arrest of 79 mercenaries, including two cell leaders, and the confiscation of large quantities of weapons, ammunition, and explosives. These operations came in response to increased ISIS activity across North and East Syria.

The Women’s Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) will hold its second forum under the slogan:
