Family appeals for help after losing contact with other of three in Homs

According to local sources, contact was lost with Jamila Ahmad Shahin (39 years old) from the village of Al-Sha’irat in eastern Homs countryside. She is married and a mother of three children. She disappeared last Saturday after leaving for Homs city to attend a medical appointment.

Reports indicate that she left around 3:00 p.m., after which her phone was turned off and could no longer be reached.

Her family stated that they filed a report with the security forces immediately after her disappearance, but were told to wait 24 hours before any action could be taken, and later asked to wait an additional 48 hours.

According to her relatives, the last sighting of Jamila Shahin was captured on surveillance cameras at Al-Nuzha Roundabout in Homs city, after which her trail disappeared completely.

The family continues to appeal to authorities and citizens for any information that could help uncover her whereabouts and bring her home safely.

The city of Homs has recently witnessed a sharp increase in kidnappings and violent crimes, many of which are believed to be motivated by sectarian reasons, amid a notable lack of action from security agencies to address the growing lawlessness in the city and its countryside.
