Humanitarian tragedies continue to unfold in the city of Swedia, more than a month and a half after the deadly assault that took place last July. The attack resulted in approximately 2,038 deaths, including women and children, amid fierce clashes between armed groups affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government and local militias.

Among these stories stands the tragedy of citizen Darin Adnan Radwan, 37 years old, who lost her sons, Basel Fidaa Azzam (17) and Haidar Fidaa Azzam (14), as well as her brother, Firas Adnan Radwan. Meanwhile, the fate of her father remains unknown after being detained by armed groups linked to the Interim Government forces during the raid on her home.

Darin recounted the harrowing details to ANHA agency, explaining that on July 15th, a group of about 15 armed militants raided her home without any official authorization. They verbally abused the women with offensive language before forcibly stealing jewelry, including her mother’s necklace, under the threat of weapons. The male members of the household were detained inside the house, while the women were forcibly expelled.

The following day, Darin received the devastating news: her sons and brother were found brutally murdered, and their home was completely burned down. As of the time of this report, her father’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Today, Darin finds herself alone, having lost everyone she loved, a scene that epitomizes the scale of the tragedy engulfing Swedia.
