German Newspaper: Interim Government's practices in Aleppo resemble Assad era tactics

The mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government, supported by the Turkish occupation, continue their attacks on besieged neighborhoods in Aleppo, leading to the displacement of tens of thousands of civilians and bringing back memories of practices witnessed during Bashar al-Assad's rule, according to the German newspaper Bild.

Resistance continues in the Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zeid neighborhoods for the third consecutive day, with fierce clashes erupting between internal security forces and residents on one side, and the mercenaries of the Interim Government on the other.

The newspaper quoted local sources as saying that the defending forces managed to thwart four successive attacks, resulting in the deaths of several attackers, the destruction of a tank, and the downing of seven drones that were being used in attacks on residential neighborhoods.

The European Union called for restraint and the protection of civilians in Aleppo, while the UN Secretary-General and his spokesperson expressed their concern over civilian casualties in the Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zeid neighborhoods, stressing the need to protect civilians and halt hostilities.
