On October 10, 2023, a global campaign was launched under the slogan "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, the Political Solution to the Kurdish Issue." Since its inception, this campaign has witnessed extensive activities worldwide, supporting the call to lift the isolation imposed on Leader Abdullah Ocalan and advocating for a comprehensive political resolution to the Kurdish question.

With the beginning of March 2024, coinciding with significant symbolic occasions such as International Women’s Day (March 8), Newroz (March 21), and the birthday of Leader Abdullah Ocalan (April 4), the campaign entered its second phase, marked by a noticeable surge in popular and political momentum. Recently, the campaign entered its third phase, adopting the slogan "I Wish to Meet Abdullah Ocalan."

In this context, citizen Sharifa Hussein expressed her profound desire to meet the leader, stating: "Leader Abdullah Ocalan is a symbol of peace and freedom. I deeply wish to meet him and see him live among us freely. He revived the Kurdish people through his thought and philosophy, and we owe him greatly."

Similarly, Jihan Darwish said: "We grew up alongside our longing to meet Leader Abdullah Ocalan and engage in dialogue with him. He is immensely important for the Kurdish people, having sacrificed throughout his life for all peoples and for the flourishing of the Kurdish nation and peace in the region. We renew our demands and hold hope to meet him."

Nora Saeed added: "Leader Abdullah Ocalan embodies life itself in his personality, thought, and philosophy. He means everything to us. Having struggled for more than fifty years, we now passionately desire to meet and see him among us."

Meanwhile, citizen Abdullah Ali from al-Hol emphasized that Leader Abdullah Ocalan has fought for every oppressed person in the world, with his ideas always aiming to combat injustice.

Ali further noted that the leader’s philosophy represents a path towards freedom and dignity, highlighting that intellectual strength persists even under imprisonment, while physical freedom would enable Ocalan to exert a greater influence among peoples.

He expressed hope that Leader Abdullah Ocalan would be freed soon, so they could be among those who meet him and listen to his ideas and philosophy. Ali also stressed that the people and forces on the ground will continue the struggle until the leader’s liberation.

Citizen Wasal Hussein from the same city asserted that Leader Abdullah Ocalan sacrificed his freedom so that the peoples of the region might enjoy theirs.

She confirmed that the leader’s thought extends beyond the Kurdish people or the peoples of North and East Syria, encompassing the entire world. Wasal added that Ocalan empowered women to assert their presence in society, both militarily and politically, emphasizing their ongoing commitment to the struggle and their sincere desire to meet the leader personally and demand his physical freedom.
