Fundraising campaign to support women in Syrian coast

On Monday, March 24, the Joint Platform for Women's Movements and Organizations in North and East Syria announced the launch of a campaign to support women in the Syrian coast under the slogan "Syrian Women's Solidarity is the Foundation to Stop Massacres Against Women in the Coast."

The campaign includes practical steps to collect donations for women affected in the Syrian coast. The Syrian Women's Council will manage these efforts, overseeing the campaign and organizing various related activities.

All offices of the Syrian Women's Council in North and East Syria and Aleppo began collecting donations today. In this context, Makia Hassou, the head of the Syrian Women's Council's organizational office, stated that the fundraising will primarily focus on providing financial aid. She said, "Due to logistical challenges related to delivering aid, the offices will purchase essential supplies for affected women in the Latakia and Jableh areas and distribute them directly."

Makia Hassou told ANHA agency: "If the campaign is conducted in an organized and effective manner, we can also meet the needs of children and provide them with necessary support."

Makia Hassou added that the campaign will involve coordination with institutions of the Autonomous Administration, civil society, political parties, and anyone willing to provide support. She emphasized that this initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of women in the Syrian coast who are enduring difficult conditions due to the current situation.

According to the announcement, the campaign will continue until March 29, when part of the aid will be delivered to the affected women on that day. The campaign will be extended for a few additional days to expand the scope of donations and aid.

The offices of the Syrian Women's Council are working intensively in all Syrian cities to ensure the success of this campaign, responding to the call of women from Latakia and Jableh.
