Five Kurdish parties form alliance in Eastern Kurdistan

Following the agreement, a statement was issued.

The statement said that the Kurdish national political movements in Eastern Kurdistan have conducted organized and continuous struggles for years against the dictatorial and centralized authority to gain their national and political rights. It added: “Since coming to power, the Iranian regime has consistently waged war, executing and killing hundreds of political leaders and causing the martyrdom of thousands of revolutionary youth and political activists, many of whom were killed in prisons. Kurdistan has been turned into an occupied and militarized region, managed under the repressive policies of the Iranian government.”

The statement also said: “We, the political parties signing the Political Forces Alliance of Kurdistan–Iran, have formed this alliance to continue our work and struggle in response to the current stage and political situation in the country. We have unified our forces and activities in Kurdistan and announced a political alliance. This alliance was reached after a period of opinion exchange and fieldwork under the framework of the ‘Center for Dialogue and Cooperation.’ The aim is to give greater importance to Kurdish political work in Iran and to strengthen the struggle of political parties against the Iranian Republic, as well as to secure the rights and freedom of the Kurdish people and to discuss building a new Iran.”

The statement added: “Our main goal is to struggle for the overthrow of the Islamic Republic of Iran and to achieve the right of self-determination for the Kurds, enabling the establishment of a national and democratic entity based on the national political will of the Kurds in Eastern Kurdistan. We will support protests and movements across Iran against the Islamic Republic at this stage. Any cooperation or agreement with other parties will be based on the recognition of the national rights of peoples, acceptance of democracy, and rejection of all forms of dictatorship.”

The statement emphasized: “We believe in environmental protection, social justice, equality between men and women, promoting free elections, ensuring the basic rights of all ethnic and religious components in Kurdistan, and building a democratic administrative system in Eastern Kurdistan to ensure the country’s security. We consider this our duty.”

The statement concluded: “We believe that political unity, party consensus, and joint struggle are essential to strengthening the Kurds’ position in the constantly changing political equations in Iran. Therefore, we are ready to cooperate with all political parties outside our alliance framework.”
