Families of martyrs in Ain Issa slam assassination fighter Zelal Zagros

This came during two separate statements read by Hadla Haj Muslim on behalf of the women in Ain Issa, and Shaha Al-Assaf on behalf of the mothers and wives of the martyrs in the district, within the framework of activities denouncing the crime of assassinating the revolutionary leader and activist Zelal Zagros (Faryal Suleiman) in Kirkuk on January 18.

The women of Ain Issa and the families of the martyrs denounced “the mentality that works to target female activists who have always worked to liberate women from the authoritarian mentality over the past centuries, and to create a free, cohesive society in which they have an effective role.”

They emphasized that the martyr Zelal, throughout her career over three consecutive decades, was a symbol of the generous and dedicated fighting woman, and she will remain a bright torch in the history of women’s struggle.

The women, mothers and wives of the martyrs pledged to complete the struggle with all strength and determination until justice and equality are achieved and all forms of slavery and authoritarian domination are eliminated.
