Executive Council: Electoral card not linked to basic services

The Executive Council of Jazera Canton called on components of NE to participate in the elections, and stressed that: “The electoral card is intended only for the election process, and it isn't linked to services, such as bread and other allocations.”

Today, the Executive Council of Jazera Canton issued a statement to public opinion regarding the municipal elections scheduled to be held on June 11, which stated: “At a time when preparations are being made for the municipal elections in NE Syria, in order for the people to elect their representatives in the municipalities, and to develop their work and services. There are some statements and allegations have been attributed to spokesmen on behalf of the communes, claiming the necessity Citizens receive their electoral cards and they are not linked to the process of distributing bread and gas.”

The Executive Council affirmed that: all these allegations are baseless, as the electoral card is a right for every citizen who has reached the age of 18, and it is not linked to service matters, such as gas, bread.

The Executive Council called on: “All sons and daughters of our people, from all components to participate in the elections in order to choose their representatives.”
