Displaced students stress resistance to liberate Afrin

A gathering of students from Al-Sharq University in the city of Raqqa to denounce the crimes of the Turkish occupation in occupied Afrin, through a statement read by the student Shirin Al-Ahmad.

It was stated at the beginning of the statement: “We condemn and denounce the brutal attack by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on our city and villages on its sixth anniversary.”

The statement added, "They are still carrying out inhumane and immoral practices, including cutting down old trees and forests and eliminating the role of women by suppressing and persecuting Syrian women and systematically silencing their voices due to the patriarchal mentality followed by these terrorist groups and their supporters, through kidnapping, looting, theft by force of arms, identity-based killing, the expulsion of indigenous people from their homes, and the theft of their property, with the aim of systematically bringing about demographic change to the population structure in the region.”

The statement concluded: “ We, male and female students of Afrin say that whoever grew olives, the symbol of peace and freedom, will not despair.  We will resist until the land of our fathers and grandfathers is liberated from the abomination of Turkish terrorism and its mercenaries.”
