Death toll increases to 7 in ISIS attack on countryside of Hama

The number of victims of the attack carried out by ISIS mercenaries on a village in the Hama countryside reached 7 people, including a child, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

" ISIS members yesterday, storming Rasm Al-Yatnah village in Al-Saan district in the north-eastern countryside of Salamiyah, within Damascus-held areas."

ISIS members stormed the village at night, burned six houses, two cars and an agricultural tractor, and stole a car and a number of sheep. The attack also resulted in the death of 200 sheep, amid a state of panic and fear among the villagers

Since the beginning of this year, Damascus government-held areas have witnessed a remarkable escalation in attacks by ISIS mercenaries.

The toll during the military operations within the Syrian desert, according to the Observatory’s documentation, has reached 69 people since the beginning of the year 2024. They are: “8 people, including a child, 53 members of the Damascus government forces and groups loyal to it, and 8 ISIS mercenaries, were killed in 22 ISIS mercenary operations within separate areas of the desert.”

It was carried out through ambushes, armed attacks, and bombings in the desert of Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, and Homs.” Most of these attacks occurred in the Homs and Deir ez-Zor deserts.
