Dialogue session in Hasaka discusses ways to promote civil peace

To discuss ways to reinforce civil peace and its importance in achieving social stability, al-Mawadda Association, under the auspices of the Governor of Hasaka, organized a dialogue session on Thursday at al-Balabil Hall in the center of Hasaka city, with the participation of community figures from government agencies, Kurdish and Arab tribal leaders, representatives of political parties, and intellectuals.

The meeting began with a video presentation featuring interviews conducted by the association with a number of Hasaka residents. The interviews explored their understanding of the concept of social peace, as the participants confirmed the importance of maintaining a peaceful discourse based on co-existence among different ethnicities and sects, and respect for the diversity that characterizes society.

The floor was then opened for discussion, during which the attendees stressed that diversity and integration within Syrian society constitute a source of richness and beauty, granting it a unique character compared to other societies.

They also stressed the need to reject hate speech and replace it with discourse that promotes social cohesion, along with the importance of involving all segments of society in building the future of Syria. They affirmed that civil peace is the product of an integrated process that relies on implementing social, economic, and political policies that respect this diversity.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants agreed to continue such dialogue sessions, which promote the culture of civil peace and solidify the values of mutual respect and understanding among the various components of society, which are considered the cornerstone of any lasting stability.
