Dialogue session highlights importance of Kurdish unity

The Jazira Writers and Intellectuals Union, Garkê Legê branch, organized a dialogue session on Wednesday titled "How Do You View the Kurdish Situation?" at its headquarters in Garkê Legê, attended by a number of intellectuals and writers.

The session began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs. Bradoost Mitani, a member of the union, welcomed attendees and stated that the Kurdish people have reached their current position thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs and the achievements gained over the years.

Mitani noted that some parties are promoting the idea that the role of the Kurdish people and the Syrian Democratic Forces has diminished following integration steps with Syria’s interim government. He argued that these developments serve the interests of the Kurdish people and contribute to preserving and strengthening their achievements.

He stressed that the strength of the Kurdish people lies in their unity and solidarity, adding that the current stage requires greater Kurdish cohesion to confront challenges targeting their rights and existence. He called on Kurdish parties and political forces to intensify cooperation and joint action.

The floor was then opened for discussion, with participants highlighting the need to unify the Kurdish position and promote dialogue among political actors. They also called for greater transparency regarding political developments and ongoing understandings in order to enhance public awareness and confidence.

Participants further emphasized the importance of overcoming internal divisions and standing united during this critical period. They expressed support for the peace call issued by Abdullah Ocalan, describing it as a step toward strengthening peace, coexistence, and equal rights for all peoples.

Concluding the session, attendees affirmed that securing the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people is a key factor in promoting stability and peace in the region, while reiterating the importance of Kurdish unity in addressing current challenges.
