The Culture and Art Movement in the city of Derbasiyah organized a dialogue seminar today on the cultural and linguistic rights of the Kurdish people in Syria, with the participation of political and cultural figures, as well as members of civil institutions and local councils in the city.

The seminar began with a minute of silence, followed by dialogue and discussion on the state of cultural and linguistic rights of the Kurdish people and ways to protect the Kurdish language and strengthen its presence in educational and constitutional institutions.

Kurdish language teacher Mohammed Hajo spoke about attempts to erase Kurdish identity and culture and prevent the use of the Kurdish language, noting that these attempts had failed to eliminate the identity and culture of the Kurdish people.

Hajo stressed that language and culture form the foundation for preserving the identity of peoples and emphasized the importance of protecting the Kurdish language as an essential part of the identity of the Kurdish people.

For her part, participant Abeer Hassen addressed the state of Kurdish-language education in schools and noted that there are a large number of Kurdish-language teachers.

Abeer Hassen called for enshrining the Kurdish language in the Syrian constitution and guaranteeing its rights in education.

She stressed the need for teachers, students and society to continue their efforts to preserve the Kurdish language and strengthen its presence.

The seminar concluded by stressing the importance of the cultural and linguistic rights of the Kurdish people and the need to strengthen the presence of the Kurdish language in education and the constitution, contributing to the protection of the cultural and linguistic identity of the Kurdish people in Syria.
