The Anti-Narcotics Administration, affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, said in a statement published today that field monitoring and follow-up operations resulted in the seizure of 225,000 Captagon narcotic pills and the arrest of two people involved in the smuggling operation.

It added that the seized items were confiscated in accordance with proper procedures, while the two detainees were referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete the investigations and take the necessary legal measures against them.

The operation comes days after another smuggling attempt originating from Lebanese territory was foiled. On September 25, the Anti-Narcotics Administration announced the seizure of 24 kilograms of hashish and 113 bottles of smuggled alcoholic beverages, following an ambush that resulted in the shipment being intercepted before reaching its destination.
