Demonstrations in London, Liverpool condemn attacks on Rojava

Hundreds of Kurds gathered in front of Manor House station in the British capital, London, responding to the call issued by the Kurdish People's Council to protest the attacks targeting Rojava. The event began with holding a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of Kurdistan. Then, chants were recited including "Long live the Rojava resistance," "Long live Rojava," "Kurdistan is one," "Long live the People's Protection Units (YPG) - Long live the Women's Protection Units (YPJ)," and "Women, life, freedom." The demonstrators also held banners with "Defend Rojava" written on.

Ishaq Milano and Najla Ari spoke on behalf of the Kurdish People's Council, and Serkhbon Bersos spoke on behalf of the Revolutionary Youth Movement.

The speeches emphasized, "The Rojava Revolution is a humanitarian revolution. The people of Kurdistan are resisting the brutal attacks on the Kurdish people and their values with great unity. The fighters of Kurdistan are not alone. Rojava is the heart of Kurdistan, and protecting our heart and our people is a duty of honor."

They also strongly criticized the policies of international powers that legitimize the jihadist terrorists of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, asserting that remaining silent about these policies is morally and politically unacceptable.

Afterward, the people marched in a procession to Turnpike Lane station. During the demonstration, the streets were filled with cheers, applause, and encouragement. In the Harinji neighborhood, known as the Kurdistan neighborhood, the march was met with great enthusiasm, and the Rojava anthem was sung in unison. The demonstration concluded in front of Turnpike Lane station with applause and cheers.

Liverpool

Kurds also gathered in Williamson Square to protest the attacks on Rojava. A press conference was held, beginning holding a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of Kurdistan freedom.

During the gathering, Meryem Heseke and Özgür Depe, the members of the Kurdish People's Council in Liverpool, delivered speeches in the activity. In their speeches, they emphasized that the attacks on Rojava target the will of peoples to peaceful co-existence, and that the Rojava Revolution is the hope of humanity. They also affirmed that the Kurdish people will not remain silent in the face of these attacks and will defend Rojava with all their might.

After the press conference, the crowd marched towards Pompid Church, chanting slogans such as "Defend Rojava," "Long live the Rojava resistance," and "Women, life, freedom." The demonstration concluded with applause and chants.
