Demonstration in Amuda demanding immediate release of prisoners

  In the city of Amuda, families and comrades of civilian and military prisoners held by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) staged a demonstration demanding the immediate release of prisoners held by the Syrian Interim Government.

The demonstration began in Martyr Jihad Square in the city's market, where participants chanted slogans such as, "Long live the prison resistance," "We want our prisoners," "We want our fighters," and "With our souls and our blood, we will redeem our prisoners."

The demonstrators carried pictures of the prisoners, along with banners that read, "Freedom is a right, not a favor," "Mothers without answers," "Prisoners are a red line," and "Mothers' hearts burn for their sons," in addition to slogans affirming continued solidarity with the prisoners.

Upon reaching the city center, the demonstration paused to allow activist Agid  Ibrahim to read a statement: "Our young people imprisoned in the interim government's jails are the same ones who stood against ISIS terrorism and fulfilled their moral and humanitarian duty to protect their regions and the world. These young men and women were among the first to stand against the Ba'ath regime, with their distinct Kurdish identity. We Kurds were pioneers in standing against dictatorships, oppressive regimes, and terrorist organizations."

The statement called on the interim government to immediately release the prisoners and urged the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces to expedite their release
