Peaceful coexistence is a door to establishing a social contract and respecting others

Engineer and member of the Political Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Party, Riad Qarmou, said that the party he represents has an opposition role in all stages, trends, authority and previous governments, but with the fall of the defunct regime, their primary role has become cooperation with all national forces to build the future of Syria.

Qarmou pointed out the necessity of working to ensure peaceful and civil coexistence among Syrian citizens; Because this coexistence is the basis for building a new social contract in a formula that satisfies the Syrians and respects "minorities and majorities" and other opinions.

Syrian women and youth must be supported

He also touched on the necessity of supporting Syrian women, saying: "They are the ones who build and carry the path of building the family and the homeland."

Regarding the role of youth in the next stage of Syria's history, Qarmou said: "They have the most important and effective role, we must all work to educate youth intellectually and ideologically to love Syria, to defend it and to build the future of the new Syria."

At the end of his speech, Riad Qarmou stressed that transitional justice must be achieved for all Syrian citizens, describing mutual respect as the basic duty among Syrians, through which a correct social contract can be built that serves the Syrians, who are all equal in rights and duties.

The right to establish democracy in Syria

As for Dr. and civil activist Muhammad Qassab, he said that they are asking where Syria is headed? Because they hope to reach a Syria where justice and tolerance prevail, after the era of the defunct regime.

Qassab stressed that they are thinking about the future of Syria in terms of pluralism and democracy more than ever before, and said: "In the past years, we were deprived of something called democracy, and now we must achieve this principle and search for it. Democracy is always a right that is not given, but rather taken."

The necessity of removing external obstacles to build a participatory Syria

In his turn, the leader of the Peaceful Path Movement, Muhammad Shaaban, believed that the hopes of the Syrian people in general come within the framework of a democratic Syria; because democracy frees the people from many of the ambiguities and things that have historically contributed to tearing apart the Syrian fabric.

He said in this regard: "Syria is a state of true citizenship in which everyone is equal, and no one is distinguished from the other, neither by religion, nor by gender, nor by color... This is the Syria that we want and we need it."

He noted that attention must be paid to the obstacles, most notably foreign interventions in Syria, saying: "They want a weak and divided Syria, where there are internal conflicts that prevent the unity of the country, so we must remove the causes of these obstacles."

In conclusion, Shaaban touched upon the fact that one of the main tasks of the national forces in the country is to build a participatory Syria that includes all the people of Syria regardless of sect, denomination or nationality. He stressed: "Syria must have justice, rights and duties, and when we live like this, the obstacles will gradually be removed."
